Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) play a vital role in the proper development and function of the brain and central nervous system in infants and children. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6(n-3)) is the most abundant omega-3 PUFA in the human brain and promotes normal brain, eye, and nerve development. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 20:5(n-3)) is the main precursor in eicosanoid metabolism and regulates neuronal and immune processes by influencing gene expression. Numerous clinical and observational studies in humans suggest a link between infant neurological development and immune disorders and a deficiency in EPA and DHA, as well as an imbalance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. Currently, <10% of children receive the recommended intake of EPA and DHA. Therefore, supplementation with DHA as well as EPA is essential to support optimal neurocognitive, neurobehavioral, and immune function during childhood.

Providing 550 mg of EPA and 225 mg of DHA.
EPA and DHA are provided as esters.
From wild-caught fish oil: whole anchovies [Engraulidae] or sardines [Clupeidae]. Molecular distillation or CO2 extraction.
OTHER INGREDIENTS: Natural vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol from sunflower) and rosemary extract in a capsule made of potato starch, stevia leaf extract (Stevia rebaudiana), turmeric root extract (Curcuma longa), annatto extract, natural flavors (lemon and orange), bovine gelatin, glycerin, and purified water.
